The number of Powered-Two-Wheelers (PTW) rider fatalities has halved during the last decade, however they are still among the most vulnerable groups of road users. Safe2Wheelers Cost Action aims at improving PTW safety with a holistic and integrated approach by acquiring, unifying and coordinating PTW safety research and ensuring broad dissemination towards PTW users, industry and public authorities.

Safe2Wheelers focus on the improvement of riders’ safety by investigating on innovative Primary and Secondary Safety concepts (WG4), including those related to Traffic Environment and Road  Infrastructure (WG3). As a shared activity of these two WG, Safe2Wheelers is organizing a workshop to review the state of the art of existing communication technologies and warning systems, motorcyclist specific injury mechanisms and wearable protection, active and semi-active electronic control systems and the performance of roadside barriers. International experts and scholars from industry and academia are welcome to attend the workshop.
