Workshop dedicated to innovative road barriers.
The effect of roadside barriers on motorcyclist safety is a pressing issue for most developed countries in the world. Although the proportion of fatal motorcycle crashes involving road barriers is small (between 4% and 16% in the US, Europe and Australasia), collisions against barriers represent a greater (between 15 and 80 times greater) fatality risk to motorcyclists than to car occupants for steel guardrails.
The workshop will bring together experts from all over the world to discuss current practices and test methods used in the design and implementation of road infrastructure focusing on motorcyclists’ protection.
